Host City Bern

Bern is not only the capital of Switzerland, but also a real gem! Stroll through the pictures of the old town, enjoy the view of the Aare river and visit the impressive Parliament Building. Experience Bern's colorful culture, historical highlights and charming atmosphere.

During UEFA Women's EURO 2025, Bundesplatz became a meeting place for guests and locals alike, with public screenings, music and various activities. The Corner Waisenhausplatz was dedicated to Berner Ballzauber and focused on women's football. Local businesses provided culinary highlights at both venues. From Tuesday, 1 July (opening ceremony) to Sunday, 27 July 2025, Host City Bern offered a varied programme for everyone.

The Host City of Bern made EURO 25 an unforgettable experience for locals and visitors alike, one of the most visited and attractive women's sporting events of all time, and a lasting boost for girls and women in football, sport and society.

With the EURO 25 in Bern, we are pursuing the following objectives:

1

An unforgettable football festival for young and old

Locals and visitors from Switzerland and abroad were thrilled by a unique football festival, and the atmosphere was reminiscent of the next ‘Miracle of Bern’.

2

The most-visited and most attractive women's sports event of all time

All matches at the Wankdorf Stadium were sold out, and a peaceful festival atmosphere prevailed throughout the city. Thanks to unique and reliable guest management, everyone felt safe and comfortable at all times.

3

A sustainable legacy programme for girls and women in football and in sports in general

EURO 25 created lasting values. To achieve these goals, the Host City of Bern worked closely with the Swiss Football Association, the regional football association Bern/Jura, local football clubs, the canton of Bern, the city of Thun and the other host cities.

The Bernese musicians' collective “take this” released a song in anticipation of the 2025 Women's European Championship in Switzerland.

The song ‘Passion’ was created together with YB legend Giullaume Hoarau, Zurich Afrobeat singer Nicky B Fly and Central Switzerland Swiss Music Award winner Caroline Chevin.

The song and the music video are a tribute to all girls and women who play football and show the diversity of women's football - from the school playground and backyard to the football pitch and stadium.

The premiere took place as part of the 100 Days to go of the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 in the Wankdorf stadium. In front of 10,476 spectators (AWSL spectator record), the final stage leading up to the Women's European Championship was launched.
