Ready for some exciting football action? Four matches of the UEFA Women's EURO 2025 will take place in the Wankdorf Stadium: three group matches on July 3, 6 and 11, and the quarterfinals on July 18. Check out the schedule here.

Teams

The matches in Group B and one Group A match (Switzerland’s group) will be played in Bern. The teams in these groups will be competing for a place in the next rounds and are among the best in Europe.

The following teams will play in the Wankdorf Stadium at Euro 2025:

Switzerland

As the host nation, Switzerland is automatically qualified for the tournament. In the previous Nations League phase (Group B), the Swiss team finished top of their group and were therefore promoted to Nations League A again.

In the last two European Championships, the Swiss team made it through to the final round but failed to make it past the group stage on each occasion. At the 2023 World Cup, they finished first in their group ahead of Norway and co-hosts New Zealand, who were prevented from advancing by a 0-0 draw on the last matchday by the Swiss. The Swiss national team also took part in the 2023 Women's World Cup and reached the round of 16. The Swiss finished the UEFA Women's Nations League 2023/24 in fourth place in Group A4.

On the first match day in Bern, on July 3, 2025, there will be an Iberian duel between the world champions from Spain and their neighbors from Portugal at 9 p.m. in the Wankdorf Stadium. Spain and Portugal have only met once before at the European Championship finals. The Spaniards won that match 2:0.

On July 11, 2025, the world champions from Spain will face the Italians at 9 p.m. in Bern. The two teams have only met once before at the European Championship finals, when Italy beat Spain 2-1 in the semi-finals in 1997 in their best ever EURO finish.

Iceland will play against Switzerland on July 6, 2025at 9 p.m. in the Wankdorf Stadium. With four wins, one draw and just onedefeat, they have played a commanding qualifying campaign and qualified for theEuropean Championship finals for the fifth time in a row. In 2013, the womenfrom the far north made it through to the quarter-finals, but were knocked outby the hosts from Sweden. Switzerland have met Iceland once before at theEuropean Championship finals and won that match 2:1.

Wankdorf Stadium

As one of the main venues for UEFA Women's EURO 2025, the Wankdorf Stadium provides a fascinating backdrop for the greatest football moments. The Wankdorf Stadium, home to BSC Young Boys, will host four matches of the UEFA Women's EURO 2025. Since its opening, the Wankdorf Stadium has hosted many legendary matches. The current stadium was opened in 2005 and can accommodate 31,500 spectators for football matches. However, the Wankdorf is not just a stadium, but also a place of community. Thanks to its state-of-the-art infrastructure and wide range of gastronomic options, it is the perfect place to enjoy sports and culture at the highest level and to celebrate in a relaxed atmosphere. The Wankdorf Stadium is not only the venue for the matches of the first men's, women's and youth teams of BSC Young Boys, but also regularly hosts attractive major concerts.
