After this initial insight, the young participants were allowed to get creative themselves: first individually, then together, they developed ideas on how the Bundesplatz could be designed during the four weeks of the tournament. After an inspiring on-site tour of the Bundesplatz, they realised their visions in drawings and collages. Culinary wishes and suggestions for concerts were also included – the creative inputs were diverse and inspiring.
In the afternoon, the program included a presentation on sustainability and the long-term effects of the tournament (legacy). The children learned about the impact a major event like the UEFA Women's EURO can have on the region and society and why long-term effects beyond the four weeks of the tournament are so important.
It was a successful day full of creativity and knowledge sharing which we really enjoyed.
